Day 1 - Moline, IL

Once we were on the road, we couldn't wait to get to Moline, IL, one of the Quad Cities. What's in Moline? It is home of John Deere and we had to make this stop specifically for Jack. We arrived and boy was it a site to see.
John Deere Headquarters

They had lots of tractors and construction equipment for Jack to climb on and drive (pretend).

When we went inside, it truly was something to see.  Tractors, construction and lawn mowers every which way you looked.  He could hardly contain himself and ran from one piece of equipment to the next.  John enjoyed learning about the history.  Even the girls enjoyed sitting in everything.

They had the coolest machine I have ever seen.  It's called the Walking Harvester and John Deere only manufactured 2 as a prototype.  It looks like a giant spider that's made to walk through the forest and cut down trees.  It looked as if it came right out of a Transformers movie.

And of course we had to visit the store. He was in heaven and wanted it all.  We left with quite a bit.

We ended our visit to Moline with a riverboat ride and ice cream.  We got back on the road around 5:00 heading to DesMoines, IA.  We arrived around 9:00 and roasted hotdogs and smores for dinner.  What a great way to end the day.
